Description
The ANU is a world-leading centre for advanced research on the politics of Asia and the Pacific. This minor introduces students to the politics of the region and to the study of comparative politics. The minor provides opportunities for students to learn about the politics of China, Indonesia, Southeast Asia, South Asia, Northeast Asia, and the Pacific and the region as a whole. An Asia-Pacific politics minor provides students with a basic foundation and conceptual toolkit for further study and future careers.

Learning Outcomes
- Understand and evaluate historical and current events and developments that have shaped political structures and institutions in the Asia-Pacific region.
- Identify and critique the key concepts, ideas and principal actors in the evolution of Asia-Pacific Politics.
- Analyse developments in politics in the Asia-Pacific in their regional and global context.
- Understand the processes and disciplinary approaches of political challenges facing the Asia-Pacific region.
