The Composition for Film and Video Games minor provides students with the opportunity to develop their own original, creative voices as multimedia composers. Students will critically analyse and examine a wide range of musical styles and approaches to scoring and learn the techniques which provide the foundation of these styles. This suite of courses gives students the knowledge and skills required to compose, record, mix and produce music for film and video games.
Learning Outcomes
- demonstrate the ability to compose a body of original music to a range of visual media;
- demonstrate the ability to produce complete professional quality mixes using industry standard software in a range of contexts and projects;
- demonstrate a sophisticated and critical understanding of the complex relationships between music, sound, and visual media in a range of contexts; and
- develop a deep knowledge of the tools, methods and techniques used in composing to visual media.

This minor requires the completion of 24 units, which must include:

MUSI2209 Music Recording and Production Techniques
