This intensively-delivered course is designed to introduce students engaged in practice-led research to the principles of exegetical writing. It aims to provide students in the creative arts with the practical skills to structure and develop their exegesis. The course will address the specific issues entailed in the writing of a document designed to critically reflect on a body of practical work, outlining a variety of strategies and models for experimenting with voice, structure and content.

- Evaluate and explore ways of writing about material, process and/or performance
- Apply course material to the writing of an exegesis
Indicative Assessment
- Participation 10% (LO 1-4)
- Written assignment, 500 words 10%
- Essay or experimental writing, 4500 words 60% (LO 1, 3, 4)
- Audio/visual presentation with written paper, 1000 words 20% (LO 1, 3, 4)
The ANU uses Turnitin to enhance student citation and referencing techniques, and to assess assignment submissions as a component of the University's approach to managing Academic Integrity. Workload
Five 6-hour days attendance at intensive classes and a further 18 hours of directed preparatory reading and preparation and up to 70 hours of independent private study/research.
