1. Identify advanced behavioural and ecological principles as they apply to non-human primates.

2. Summarize the behavioural and ecological characteristics of selected non-human primate species.

3. Combine information from a variety of academic resources on a foundational theory of primate behaviour to explain its current relevance.

4. Critically assess at least one major theory of primate behaviour.

5. Use case studies to effectively illustrate a theoretical concept in primate behaviour and create stimulating discussion questions and articulate your ideas orally.

6. Summarise key points from a scientific article and link back to material regarding common principles of non-human primate species biology.

Indicative Assessment

One 3500 word essay (25%) (LO 3, 4)
One 30 minute Tutorial presentation ( 20%) (LO 5)
One 15 minute discussion lead (5%) (LO 5)
Four 300 word Tutorial portfolio assignments (4 x 5% = 20%) (LO 6)
Two 40 minute midterm exams (15% each x 2 = 30%) (LO,1,2)

The ANU uses Turnitin to enhance student citation and referencing techniques, and to assess assignment submissions as a component of the University's approach to managing Academic Integrity. Workload

2 hours of lectures, 1 hour of film and 1 hour of tutorial per week.
