A Masters in Finance from the Australian National University equips
graduates with the necessary skills to excel in the global financial
marketplace. Students enrolled in the program examine fundamental
principles in finance which are applicable to: valuing financial
securities and corporations; utilising derivatives for risk management
purposes; and, exploring diversification methods to create investment
portfolios. You will be challenged to solve financial problems and will
develop a keen analytical mind which is essential when working in the
fast paced world of finance. As a Master of Finance graduate from the
Australian National University you will be highly sought-after by
employers both in Australia and around the world.
Single degree
The degree requires 96 units, consisting of 15 core courses and one elective course.
About this degree
Students must achieve a minimum 60% weighted average mark in the initial component to continue to the concluding component. Students
who do not achieve a minimum of 60% weighted average mark will be
transferred to the Graduate Diploma of Finance and Actuarial Statistics.
Enrolment Status
It is possible to enrol in less than 24 units per semester but it will take you longer to finish your program and get your degree. If you are an international student you must always be enrolled full-time in 24 units each semester.
Remember you will need to enrol in courses for both First Semester and Second Semester. You will be able to change your enrolment in courses up until the end of week 2 of each semester without penalty.

Students should include details of ANU courses for which they seek course credit on the credit application form. They are also required to attach course outlines of their previous studies (if not undertaken at ANU), or assessment of their qualification completed by any relevant professional bodies.
