On satisfying the requirements of this course, students will demonstrate an advanced knowledge and conceptual understanding of professional development within clinical medicine including clinical assessment and management, safety and quality and the adult principles underpinning teaching and learning.. The students will be able to demonstrate the principles of evidence-based practice, use of clinical decision making, workplace standards and adult learning principles in a medical workplace environment.Indicative Assessment
Five ‘Mid Term Formative Appraisals' and five' End of Term Summative Assessments' over a twelve month period. Students will also present a case based presentation to their peers and provide a 2000 word Safety and Quality Project which reflects an understanding of their professional development.The ANU uses Turnitin to enhance student citation and referencing techniques, and to assess assignment submissions as a component of the University's approach to managing Academic Integrity. While the use of Turnitin is not mandatory, the ANU highly recommends Turnitin is used by both teaching staff and students. Workload
The course involves active and self- directed learning. Students will be expected to attend and participate in the case based presentations, clinical skills program and complete a Safety and Quality project under the direction of the course coordinator and academic mentor. Contact hours with the course co-ordinator or mentor will be a minimum of one hour per fortnight over a forty-eight week period.
