Program Requirements
The Bachelor of Art History and Curatorship (Honours) requires the completion of 48 units, which must consist of:
36 units from completion of the following compulsory courses:
ARTH4015 Honours Art Museum Internship 1
ARTH4016 Honours Art Museum Internship 2
THES4102 Thesis
12 units from completion of courses on the following list:
ARTH4017 Methodologies of Art History
ARTH4018 East-West Interactions in Art
HONS4100 Final Honours Grade will be used to calculate the Class of Honours and the Mark. It will be calculated using the formula: Σ (mark x units) / Σ units, giving NCN and WN a nominal mark of zero
Elective Study
Once you have met the program requirements of your degree, you may have enough electives to complete an additional elective major, minor or specialisation.

A Bachelor Degree from ANU from the following list, or equivalent from another institution:
Bachelor of Arts (Art History and Curatorship)
Bachelor of Art History and Curatorship
with a weighted average mark of at least 70 per cent across the 36 units of courses with highest final marks, excluding 1000-level courses, that are available in any of the majors and minors on the following list:
Art History Major
Asian Art History Major
Curatorship Minor
and with the written approval of an identified supervisor for THES4102 Thesis

- pose a significant research question relating to Art History and Curatorship;
- investigate this question creatively, critically, ethically, and independently, including through sophisticated use of appropriate theory and methodology as appropriate to Art History and Curatorship, and place these investigations in the context of the relevant intellectual tradition; and
- communicate their research and its findings through an appropriate medium.
