This course is designed to provide students with a more in-depth understanding of the concepts and issues involved with accounting and commerce related areas by integrating and synthesizing the knowledge and skills acquired to undertake an applied research project. Students will undertake independent research work through instructional guidance to develop a research proposal, literature review and write up of a research project. 

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion, students will have the knowledge and skills to:

  1. Critically analyse advanced issues in accounting and commerce contexts.
  2. Demonstrate a solid understanding of research in the selected topic(s).
  3. Critically evaluate the complex ideas and research issues involved in the selected topic(s).

Indicative Assessment

  1. Typical assessment may include, but is not restricted to, multiple major pieces of assessment and/or a major research report. (100) [LO 1,2,3]

The ANU uses Turnitin to enhance student citation and referencing techniques, and to assess assignment submissions as a component of the University's approach to managing Academic Integrity. While the use of Turnitin is not mandatory, the ANU highly recommends Turnitin is used by both teaching staff and students. Workload

Students taking this course are expected to commit 130 hours over the semester to completing the work. This will include attending classes, course reading, research, writing and assignment work.
