This course provides the students with experience of research in the computing discipline. It exposes the students to team work, problem solving skills, research skills and project management. The course will feature a small-group synergistic research project covering at least two of the sub-areas in computer science, such as the following: Human-computer Interfaces, Applications, Systems and Theory. Contemporary research literature on the theme will be studied, followed by undertaking under supervision a small project extending research on this theme.

- have an understanding of the research methods being employed in these areas.
- have a basis of the knowledge and skills in research projects that can be built upon for more substantial projects.
Indicative Assessment
A project report (90%), and a seminar (10%).
