This course introduces kiln-casting processes and develops in depth skills in glass fusing and cold finishing. Set projects introduce thematic ideas and are aimed at developing student’s ability to reflect and integrate concepts with material and process investigations. Lectures and group discussions assist students locate their experimental methods within the broader field of crafts, design and visual arts practice. Occupational health and safety instruction is integrated throughout the syllabus.

Indicative Assessment
Portfolio of studio work (80%) [LO 1, 2, 3]and Journal/Documentation/Studio Theory presentation [LO 4] (20%).
Feedback on work in progress is provided during class and at mid semester review session. Final assessment will be based on presented completed works, journals, tests and models.
