Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion, students will have the knowledge and skills to:
On successful completion, the student will be able to communicate in very simple spoken and written German about topics covered in the course. This will include engaging in a very simple conversation of predictable content, as well as reading and writing about personal details and other topics covered in the course. In addition, the student will be able to read and listen for gist to more complex and/or more rapidly spoken German. The student will have gained a first awareness of aspects of life and culture of the German speaking societies and principles of intercultural communication.
Indicative Assessment
Graduate students may attend joint classes with undergraduates but can expect more rigorous asessment and additional assignment work, tailored to their interests.
The ANU uses Turnitin to enhance student citation and referencing techniques, and to assess assignment submissions as a component of the University's approach to managing Academic Integrity. While the use of Turnitin is not mandatory, the ANU highly recommends Turnitin is used by both teaching staff and students. Workload
