This course is an intensive introduction to translational medicine that will look at the translational process through discussion groups and research based seminars from experts in the field addressing the following themes:
- Basic Discovery: the Foundation of Translational Medicine
- From the Bench to the Clinic
- From Clinical Research to Clinical Care: Outcomes of Translational Research on Healthcare Practice, Guidelines and Policy
- Global health: The Last Frontier of Translational Medicine

Workload
Attendance and participation at a one week intensive program (approx 40 hours), and six two-hour tutorial sessions through the remaining weeks of the winter session. It is expected that a similar period is spent on self-directed study and completing the assessment requirements.
