This Course is an introduction to basic skills, techniques and processes associated with Relief Printing, Stencilling and Monotype. Conceptual, historical and contextual foundations of Relief Printing will be presented. Instruction is through weekly studio projects.
Upon successful completion, students will have the knowledge and skills to:Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to
- Demonstrate an understanding of the basic techniques, processes and equipment used in relief printing;
- Explore the creative potential of materials and techniques relevant to relief printing;
- Produce work which recognises relationships between concept and process relevant to relief printing;
- Engage with historical and theoretical contexts relevant to set projects.
