Toolkit for Chinese Studies and Translation (CHIN3042)
The course introduces students to the range of primary reference tools, both Chinese and Western, traditional and modern, available to scholars working in Chinese Studies and the field of translation.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion, students will have the knowledge and skills to:

By the end of this course students will have an advanced understanding of the theoretical and methodological issues pertaining to the the range of reference tools available in the field of Chinese Studies and Chinese/English translation.

They will have applied their knowledge and experience of these tools to a particular topic.

Indicative Assessment

One 1000 word assignment - 20%

One seminar presentation - 20%

One major essay - 30%

Final examination - 30%

The ANU uses Turnitin to enhance student citation and referencing techniques, and to assess assignment submissions as a component of the University's approach to managing Academic Integrity.
