CAD-Design-Create 2 is an elective that further develops skills, techniques and processes in computer-based design for 2D and 3D manufacturing. This course will help students to prepare and present developed design ideas as well as materialize them with computer controlled fabrication processes. A series of given exercises will lead to student driven projects with a focus on their individual interest. Projects will use progressively complex drawing, modelling and rendering methods. Conceptual and thematic issues are addressed. Occupational health and safety instruction is an integral part of this course.

  1. Consolidate your understanding of techniques and processes used in 2D and 3D computer aided design (CAD) and its application with digital fabrication
  2. Creatively explore the digital design environment and its application relevant to design process’ in your major discipline.

Workload

4 hours per week lectures, tutorials, critiques and supervised studio practice and 6 hours per week independent studio practice and other research.

To enrol in this course you must have previously completed DESA2011.
