This course has been replaced and is only available to students who enrolled in it for the first time prior to 1 September 2014

In this course, the student will write a sub-thesis of approximately 20,000 words. Only students who have completed the 48 unit Master of Linguistics with an average of 70% in their coursework and have arranged a supervisor for their sub-thesis may enrol in this course.

Indicative Assessment

The sub-thesis comprises 100% of the assessment [all LO's].

The ANU uses Turnitin to enhance student citation and referencing techniques, and to assess assignment submissions as a component of the University's approach to managing Academic Integrity. While the use of Turnitin is not mandatory, the ANU highly recommends Turnitin is used by both teaching staff and students. Workload

The workload in a given semester will vary depending on whether the student is completing this course in one semester or on a part time basis over more than one semester, but the total workload for the complete 24 units is 520 hours.
