This course offers invaluable training for those interested in pursuing advanced level research in the fields of languages and linguistics, and will appeal to Honours and HDR students with a focus on literature, cultural studies, language teaching, and linguistics. The course will provide hands-on experience in essential components of research: writing up a sustained piece of research; reviewing relevant literature; applying for funding; disseminating research though conference presentations and publishing. By working on one project for the different pieces of assessment throughout the course, students will complete the course with a well developed research project. Specific topics covered will vary from year to year.

This course introduces graduate students to research in the areas of linguistics and language & culture. Students are not required to have completed any prior course before enrolling in this course. However, students will find the course most beneficial if they are currently engaged in their own research project.Fees
