There are nine lessons in the Tetum 2A course. Lessons include asking for and giving directions, schools, including higher education, making plans, using the telephone, describing people, cooking and having a party. Apart from introducing new vocabulary and some revision of grammar there are also translations, dialogues and reading from set texts including newspaper articles. Each week there is a presentation which includes questions from fellow students about the chosen subjects. Both the presenter and the fellow students are involved in the discussion which is aimed at improving fluency and confidence in speaking to native speakers.
The ANU uses Turnitin to enhance student citation and referencing techniques, and to assess assignment submissions as a component of the University's approach to managing Academic Integrity. While the use of Turnitin is not mandatory, the ANU highly recommends Turnitin is used by both teaching staff and students.
