The Internship with available arts cultural institutions is a prestigious and demanding program, in which the Internship Convenor places graduate students with a sound record of academic achievement in Art History or a related field. The Internship is designed to provide the student with insights into the activities and the workings of an art museum or gallery. The specific nature of the contact work will depend on the requirements of the art museum specialist supervisor, who may include curators, registrars, research program managers and art educators and public programmers. The internship is seen as providing an opportunity for learning about the field in preparation towards an art museum career.

1.participate within an arts cultural institution and understand the workings of that institution in co-operation with specialist staff.
2. undertake a specified art museum project related to collection management, interpretation, time management, and exhibition development.
3. research and write an acquisition proposal for an object for an arts cultural institution, or a related exhibition or public program proposal as determined by their supervisor
4. compile a structured report on their respective acquisition or related project, developing a sustained research argument, and communicating their report to their colleagues and peers.

Reflective journal on activities undertaken during the internship, written up weekly for submission towards completion of the internship. (3,000 words). 40% (Learning outcomes, 1, 2,3)
The ANU uses Turnitin to enhance student citation and referencing techniques, and to assess assignment submissions as a component of the University's approach to managing Academic Integrity. While the use of Turnitin is not mandatory, the ANU highly recommends Turnitin is used by both teaching staff and students. Contact hours include
10 hours per week at the host institution over a 13 week semester and structured group discussions and group meetings with the Internship Convenor throughout the semester.
Students are expected to complete an average of 3 hours per week outside these contact hours.
