Career options following the Master of Philosophy include many opportunities in addition to an academic path. Alumni of the Doctor of Philosophy from the Mathematical Sciences Institute may go on to careers such as data miner, statistical consultant, software engineer, data analyst, meteorologist, quantitative analyst, actuary, and industrial research mathematician.
To be admitted to the Master of Philosophy program you will be required to have completed a Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline with at least upper second class Honours or equivalent and demonstrate the capacity to undertake independent research

The Master of Philosophy requires the submission and successful examination of a thesis of up to 60,000 words.
Study consists of one to two years of full-time study or part-time equivalent.
