Master of International Management

Graduates of the Master of International Management acquire advanced knowledge and skills for professional or highly skilled managerial work in the global economy. The knowledge acquired from completion of this degree is both theoretical and applied in the international business and management disciplines. Graduates will have an understanding of recent developments in these disciplines and the associated professional practice. In particular graduates will understand the evidence base for international managerial practice: the relationship between theory and applied knowledge and the research from which it emerges.

Single degree

The completion of the Master of International Management requires the completion of 96 units:

  • 48 units of compulsory courses;
  • 6 units from completion of courses from the following list:

    BUSI7020 The European Business System

    BUSI7055 Asian Business Systems

  • 6 units from completion of courses from the following list:

    MGMT7006 Effective Business Decision Making

    MGMT7161 Entrepreneurship and New Venture Planning

AND either:

  • 12 units of elective courses offered by ANU and

    24 units from completion of one of the following specialisations:

    Innovation and Entrepreneurship

    Leadership

    Marketing

    Project Management

OR
  • 36 units of elective courses offered by ANU



Enrolment Status

It is possible to enrol in fewer than 24 units per semester but it will take you longer to finish your program and get your degree. If you are an international student you must always be enrolled full-time in 24 units each semester.

Remember you will need to enrol in courses for both First Semester and Second Semester.  You will be able to change your enrolment in courses up until the end of Week 2 of each semester without penalty.

Electives

The Program allows students to take six electives, in a wide range of fields, including languages, internships, and other courses from many Schools across the ANU campus.  Students also have the option of undertaking specialisations in Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Leadership, Marketing and Project Management.

Academic Advice

If you seek any course advice, please discuss with the CBE academic advisers or your program convener, Dr Andrew Bradly. His consultation sessions are on Mondays 2 - 4pm and he can also be available upon request (either in person or via phone).
Academic advice sessions for students commencing in Semester 1 2016 are held in Melville Hall:
Tuesday 9 February 9:30 am - 12:30 pm and 1:30 pm - 4:30 pm
Thursday 11 February 11:00 am - 1:00 pm and 1:30 pm - 4:30 pm
Friday 12 February 9:30 am - 12:30 pm and 1:30 pm - 4:30 pm
