Students will develop their own focused research into clay types and surfaces. The development of the glaze surface and colour will be through various testing methodologies. The testing & development program will lead to the student developing their own palette of glazes. Occupational health and safety instruction is an integral part of this course.

- Competently utilise a range of skills relevant to Ceramic Glaze and Colour development in developing their own glazes.
- Explore the potential of material/s used in Ceramic Glaze and Colour projects to formulate glazes and surfaces.
- Investigate the inventive application of concepts and processes in relation to Glazes and Colour
- Engage with historical and theoretical contexts relevant to Ceramic projects
Indicative AssessmentGlaze testing program & studio work (80%) [LOs 1 - 5]
Journal/Documentation/Studio Theory presentation (20%). (1000 words) [LOs 2, 4, 5]
Assessment will be based on the Rubric for this course. Assessment includes periodic critique and review sessions that provide ongoing feedback on work in progress.
