This Course is an introduction to basic skills, techniques and processes associated with Intaglio processes. Conceptual, historical and contextual background will be presented. Instruction is through weekly studio projects. Occupational health and safety instruction is an integral part of this course.

- Explore the creative potential of materials and techniques relevant to intaglio printing;
- Produce work which recognises relationships between concept and process relevant to intaglio printing;
- Engage with historical and theoretical contexts relevant to set projects.
Indicative AssessmentPortfolio of studio work (80%) [LOs 1 – 4]
Visual Journal and Studio Theory presentation (20%). [LOs 2 – 4]
Assessment includes periodic critique and review sessions that provide ongoing feedback on work in progress.
