Sculpture Temporal Studies Making Time in Space: through chance and process approaches (ARTV6805)

Temporal Studies is an exciting project that introduces graduate students to concepts of space and place through time-based making, including installation, drawing and performance. Students can explore personal experience and skills to investigate time and place as cultural constructs relevant to medium. Ideas of permanence and transition will be investigated through drawing, mapping, site interventions and chance operations. Students will keep visual and technical diaries to assist in the development of critical and evaluative skills. Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) is an integral part of this course.

Assessment includes periodic critique and review sessions that provide ongoing feedback on work in progress.

The ANU uses Turnitin to enhance student citation and referencing techniques, and to assess assignment submissions as a component of the University's approach to managing Academic Integrity. Workload

4 hours per week lectures, tutorials, critiques and supervised studio practice and 6 hours per week independent studio practice for 13 weeks (total 130 hours).

Requisite and Incompatibility

You are not able to enrol in this course if you have previously completed ARTV2815.

Assumed Knowledge

Students are expected to have some understanding of basic construction and use of tools.
