The Master of Science Communication Research Project is a substantive investigation of an approved topic in science communication. This can include an empirical study or the development of a science communication artefact (e.g. book, CD-ROM, DVD, web site) along with a written component justifying the artefact in a theoretical framework based on the current understanding of the area. Training in research methods will be provided to all students enrolled in SCOM8700.

4. Appropriately apply statistical or other evaluation processes to original data
5. Understand and apply ethical standards of conduct in the collection and evaluation of data and other resources
6. Communicate research concepts and contexts clearly and effectively both in writing and orally
Indicative Assessment
Assessment will be based on the Research Project Report - examination to be handled internally by 2 examiners. (Learning Outcomes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 100%).The ANU uses Turnitin to enhance student citation and referencing techniques, and to assess assignment submissions as a component of the University's approach to managing Academic Integrity. While the use of Turnitin is not mandatory, the ANU highly recommends Turnitin is used by both teaching staff and students.
