Upon successful completion, students will have the knowledge and skills to:
Understand key phases of the development of Chinese calligraphy;
Acquire an understanding of the role of Chinese calligraphy historically;
To integrate this theoretical and historical knowledge with empirical examples;
Learn to think critically;
Develop skills in synthesising and contextualising new information; develop skills to locate, analyse, evaluate and synthesise information from a wide variety of sources, both Western and Chinese;
Develop an ability to work in cooperative groups on key issues to do with this field of Chinese Studies and to communicate findings to others.

Final calligraphic production (40%).
