Courses within the Master of Financial Management have been developed in consultation with key industry partners in the finance sector, assuring you that the advanced skillset you will develop in the program will prepare you for a rewarding career in business.

About this degree

The Master of Financial Management requires the completion of 48 units, which must consist of:

36 units from completion of compulsory courses from the following list:

BUSN7008 Financial Statements and Reporting

FINM7006 Applied Foundations of Finance

FINM7007 Applied Corporate Finance

FINM7008 Applied Investments

FINM8007 Topics in International Finance

STAT7055 Introductory Statistics for Business and Finance

 

6 units from completion of courses from the following list:

STAT6038 Regression Modelling

STAT7001 Applied Statistics

 

6 units from completion of courses from the following list:

ECON8069 Business Economics

STAT6046 Financial Mathematics


Enrolment Status

This program can be undertaken on a full-time or part-time basis, depending on course scheduling. International students on a student visa must always be enrolled in  24 units (four courses) in each semester.

Students are able to change their enrolment until Monday of week 2 of each semester.

One-year program. You can enrol STAT6046 in your first semester only when you are exempted from STAT7055.

Academic Advice

Before applying for any exemption towards the program, students should read the information about credit applications on the CBE website: https://www.cbe.anu.edu.au/students/student-information/enrolment/application-for-credit_master-of-f... Students should include details of ANU courses for which they seek course credit on the credit application form. They are also required to attach course outlines of their previous studies (if not undertaken at ANU), or assessment of their qualification completed by any relevant professional bodies.

If after reading through these guidelines you are unsure about your which courses to enrol in, you can seek academic advice session during Orientation week or a CBE drop in session, or contact your program convenor, Dr Anna Von-Reibnitz (anna.vonreibnitz@anu.edu.au). She is available by appointment. Please ensure you take a copy of your academic transcript with you when you meet with Dr Von-Reibnitz.
