Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:1. Identify advanced behavioural and ecological principles as they apply to non-human primates.
2. Summarize the behavioural and ecological characteristics of selected non-human primate species.
3. Combine information from a variety of academic resources on a foundational theory of primate behaviour to explain its current relevance.
4. Critically assess at least one major theory of primate behaviour.
5. Use case studies to effectively illustrate a theoretical concept in primate behaviour and create stimulating discussion questions and articulate your ideas orally.
6. Summarise key points from a scientific article and link back to material regarding common principles of non-human primate species biology.
Indicative Assessment

Workload
130 hours of total student learning time made up from: a) 48 hours of contact over 12 weeks: 24 hours of lectures, 12 hours of film screenings, and 12 hours of tutorials; and b) 94 hours of independent student research, reading and writing.Requisite and Incompatibility
