This course examines the architecture of Australia's national security policymaking system and considers where the national security community may be headed in the future.
Upon successful completion, students will have the knowledge and skills to:
To meet the learning outcomes participants will need to demonstrate an ability to:
Appreciate how the concept of ‘national security’ is applied in different contexts;
Analyse how Australia organises and applies its resources to promote national security; and
Evaluate options for the future development of Australia’s national security policymaking system.
1500 word Policy Brief (20%); 3500 word Major Essay (50%); Final Exam (30%)
