This course builds upon the concepts introduced in PSYC2007 and can be taken concurrently with PSYC3015. It focuses on current issues in the area of perception and perceptual neuroscience. The aim is to understand some of the defining questions in the area and also the various experimental techniques that are used to investigate these issues.
Examples of the types of topics that may be covered include: solving the binding problem, i.e. how the various visual attributes of an object (e.g. its speed, shape and colour) are combined to form a coherent percept; how information from successive eye movements is integrated; the neural underpinnings of visual attention; and the integration of form and motion information.

4. Design experimental studies, from logical conception to stimulus details.

Both examinations must be passed in order for an overall pass in the course to be awarded.
