Admission Requirements
A Bachelor degree or international equivalent with a minimum GPA of 4.5/7
All applicants must meet the University’s English Language Admission Requirements for Students
Applicants with a Bachelor degree or Graduate Certificate in Economics may be considered for 24 units (one semester) of credit, comprising:

Upon successful completion, students will have the skills and knowledge to:
- access the technical academic literature in most fields of study in applied economics and econometrics;
- be capable of undertaking independent research in applied economics and econometrics at the graduate level and provide intuition for the results;
- have the capacity to analyse the economic effects of policy changes in several fields of economics.
Further Information
This program is available in S1 and S2.Students are required to obtain an average of 70% in ECON8025, ECON8026, ECON8013 and EMET8005 to progress to the 2nd year of the Master of Applied Economics. Students who do not meet the 70% progression requirement may transfer to the Master of Economic Policy.
Study Option varies for students commencing in S2.
EMET8008 Econometric Theory is counted as an elective course towards the program.
Please note: Postgraduate students in the Research School of Economics are ineligible to undertake CBEA6070 ANU College of Business and Economics Internship Project (PG).

Enrolment Status
While it is possible for domestic students to enrol in fewer courses per semester, ie. undertake part-time study, it will take you longer to complete your program. International students must undertake full-time study.
You must complete the foundation level
courses (ECON7073, ECON7074, EMET7001 and STAT7055) before progressing to the
higher level courses (ECON8025, ECON8026, ECON8013 and EMET8005).
Please be aware that ECON6015 is not offered in 2017. It is replaced by ECON8013 for this year.
