In this course students will develop an individual research project in response to the drawing problems presented weekly. Understanding of contemporary drawing practices will be extended through this independent research and a series of student presentations. Occupational health and safety instruction is an integral part of this course.

- Competently utilize a range of skills in response to project drawing assignments
- Explore the potential of material/s used in project drawing assignments:
- Investigate the inventive application of concepts and processes in drawing;
- Engage with historical and theoretical contexts relevant to set project drawing assignments
Indicative AssessmentDrawing project and visual diary (80%) [LOs 1 – 4]
Documentation and presentation of Research Project(20%). [LOs 2 – 4]
Assessment includes periodic critique and review sessions that provide ongoing feedback on work in progress.
The ANU uses Turnitin to enhance student citation and referencing techniques, and to assess assignment submissions as a component of the University's approach to managing Academic Integrity. Workload130 hours of total student learning time made up from: a) 48 hours of contact over 12 weeks: lectures, tutorials, critiques and supervised studio practice; and b) 82 hours of independent studio practice, reading and writing.
