Program Requirements
The Bachelor of International Relations (Honours) requires the completion of 48 units, which must consist of:
48 units from completion of the following compulsory courses:
POLS4009 Special Topics in Politics and International Relations 1
POLS4010 Special Topics in Politics and International Relations 2
POLS4011 Research Training: Scope and Methods
THES4103 Thesis
HONS4100 Final Honours Grade will be used to calculate the Class of Honours and the Mark. It will be calculated using the formula: Σ (mark x units) / Σ units, giving NCN and WN a nominal mark of zero
Elective Study
Once you have met the program requirements of your degree, you may have enough electives to complete an additional elective major, minor or specialisation.

A Bachelor Degree from ANU from the following list, or equivalent from another institution:
Bachelor of Arts (International Relations)
Bachelor of International Relations
with a weighed average mark of at least 70 per cent, calculated from the 36 units of courses with highest final marks, excluding 1000-level courses, from majors and specialisations from the following list:
International Relations Major
Globalisation in International Relations Specialisation
International Relations Theory Specialisation
International Security Specialisation
and with the written approval of an identified supervisor for THES4103 Thesis

The Bachelor of International Relations (Honours) degree exemplifies the ANU commitment to research-led education. If a person seeking acceptance into a Bachelor Honours program satisfies or exceeds the minimum requirement for admission to the Bachelor Honours program, the Delegated Authority is not obliged to admit the person to the program only because the person has satisfied the minimum requirement for admission.
