Program Requirements
The Bachelor of European Studies (Honours) requires the completion of 48 units, which must consist of:
12 units from completion of POLS4011 Research Training: Scope and Methods
12 units from completion of courses from the following list:
POLS4009 Special Topics in Politics and International Relations 1
POLS4010 Special Topics in Politics and International Relations 2
HIST4009 War and Culture in the 20th Century
HIST4010 History Incorporated: Early Modern Bodies, 1550-1750
24 units from THES4103 Thesis
HONS4100 Final Honours Grade will be used to calculate the Class of Honours and the Mark. It will be calculated using the formula: Σ (mark x units) / Σ units, giving NCN and WN a nominal mark of zero
Elective Study
Once you have met the program requirements of your degree, you may have enough electives to complete an additional elective major, minor or specialisation.

Admission Requirements
A Bachelor Degree from ANU from the following list, or equivalent from another institution:
- Bachelor of Arts (European Studies)
- Bachelor of European Studies
with a weighted average mark of at least 70 per cent across the 36 units of 2000-level and 3000-level courses with the highest marks and in a major from the following list :
- Contemporary Europe
- European History
and with the written approval of an identified supervisor for THES4103 Thesis.

The Bachelor of European Studies (Honours) degree exemplifies the ANU commitment to research-led education. If a person seeking acceptance into a Bachelor Honours program satisfies or exceeds the minimum requirement for admission to the Bachelor Honours program, the Delegated Authority is not obliged to admit the person to the program only because the person has satisfied the minimum requirement for admission.
