Art History and Curatorial Studies Specialisation

We offer a specialisation in Art History and Curatorial Studies to give you an introductory understanding of the area that is also a pathway to a Masters degree in the discipline.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion, students will have the knowledge and skills to:
    1. differentiate and critique the historical, social, cultural and political contexts of diverse periods, styles, and methods in Art History;
    2. closely analyse individual works of art, and interpret and communicate ideas to both specialist and non-specialist audiences using disciplinary language and conventions;
    3. construct linkages between the study of Art History and the practicalities of curating; and
    4. undertake independent research.
