This course requires students to complete a 12 unit honours research essay in actuarial studies. Students will undertake independent research in actuarial studies under the guidance of a supervisor. At completion of this thesis course, students will have developed the capacity to perform independent research, and have an in-depth knowledge of their chosen research topic.

Indicative Assessment

The grade for this course is determined based on a research essay submitted at the end of the honours year.  In order to pass the course, students must also complete a number of hurdle tasks, determined by the convenor of the honours program, and designed to prepare students for the completion of their essay.

The ANU uses Turnitin to enhance student citation and referencing techniques, and to assess assignment submissions as a component of the University's approach to managing Academic Integrity. While the use of Turnitin is not mandatory, the ANU highly recommends Turnitin is used by both teaching staff and students. For additional information regarding Turnitin please visit the ANU Online website.
