This course is designed for students who wish to study physics at a level beyond a standard major in Physics at years 11 and 12. International students are not able to enrol in this course.
Topics covered in year 11 will include; understanding measurement and data analysis, experimental methodology, vectors(dot and cross products), statics (free body diagrams), equilibrium, energy, numerical techniques (Euler algorithm), centre of mass, collisions, rotational motion, moment of inertia and angular momentum.
In year 12 the focus is on Electromagnetism with topics including charge distributions, Gauss’s law, capacitance, RC Circuits, Kirchoff’s laws, magnetism and Maxwell’s equations.
