This course covers core research skills (qualitative and quantitative) which will be used to plan and conduct a research project in an area of interest. Building on PREP1012: Independent Research Proposal, this course provides students with the opportunity to develop and apply their problem solving, teamwork and research skills to a topic of interest using simple survey methodology to collect and analyse data from their class peers. The findings from their project will be presented in both report and poster format. Throughout the course, emphasis will be placed on critical analysis and the significance of robust, ethically-based research to inform, influence and support decision making as it applies to our daily lives.

4. Apply ethical standards, academic integrity and "fair test" principles in academic research activities;
5. Apply basic graphing, statistical and survey skills in the conducting of a research project.
