PhD Clinical Field Placement IV is the fourth of four internships of 250 hours each. 

Clinical Placement IV

Students will continue their clinical work in July of the second year of the program and are required to undertake their fourth placement, at 2-3 days a week for 12 weeks (minimum of 250 hours). This placement will involve either working in a clinical setting external to the university or undertaking a specialist clinical placement in the ANU Psychology Clinic. All students are required to undertake an adult and a child placement but other placements can be negotiated.

 

Professional Practice IV (Convenor: Mr Salih Ozgul) 1 hr/fortnight

Students are required to attend Professional Practice meetings that are held throughout the year. In addition to case presentations there will be specific sessions considering important ethical issues in the practice of clinical psychology.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion, students will have the knowledge and skills to:

Students will demonstrate knowledge, and clinical and professional competencies required of a psychologist,

Indicative Assessment

Students complete relevant professional supervision and practice journals, receive direct feedback from supervisor on clinical/professional skills, summative and formative feedback from superivor and self reflection on own goal attainment and practicum and supervision experience. Students participate in professional practice/peer supervision meetings.

Workload

2-3 days/week field placement (min 250 hours over 12 weeks) and 1 hr/fortnight professional practice meeting.

Requisite and Incompatibility

To enrol in this course you must be studying a Doctor of Philosophy, Clinical Psychology (9064) . You are not able to enrol in this course if you have previously completed PSYC8104 and PSYC9024.
