The Introduction to Calculus course is designed to prepare international students for first year undergraduate study. This course aims to develop students’ conceptual understanding of basic calculus; ability to solve applied problems, interpret and assess the reasonableness of the solutions; and communication of mathematical concepts and analysis.
Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion, students will have the knowledge and skills to:
On successful completion of this course, students will be able to:1. describe the concepts of basic calculus;
2. perform and present basic calculus analysis using technology;
3. apply concepts and techniques of basic calculus to solve applied problems;
4. present interpretation of mathematical solutions to applied problems and assess the reasonableness of the solutions;
5. communicate mathematical concepts and solutions orally and in writing in a clear and logical manner.
