Program Requirements
The Bachelor of Philosophy (Honours)/Bachelor of Science (Honours) - NUS as home institution requires the completion of the equivalent of 192 units, which must consist of:

MA1421 Basic Applied Mathematics for Sciences or any non-bridging MA module

Students must achieve a minimum 80% weighted average mark in Science courses in each period (Summer/First Semester/Autumn and Winter/Second Semester/Spring) in order to continue in the Bachelor of Philosophy (Honours)/Bachelor of Science (Honours) - NUS as home institution.
Elective Study
Once you have met the program requirements of your degree, you may have enough electives to complete an additional elective major, minor or specialisation.
Admission Requirements
At a minimum, all applicants must meet program-specific academic/non-academic requirements, and English language requirements. Admission to most ANU programs is on a competitive basis. Therefore, meeting all admission requirements does not automatically guarantee entry.
In line with the university's admissions policy and strategic plan, an assessment for admission may include competitively ranking applicants on the basis of specific academic achievement, English language proficiency and diversity factors.
Domestic applicants

Prerequisites
This program is restricted to approximately six students from each institution annually so admission is highly selective. As a guide only, you will be expected, for both programs, to achieve a minimum Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) of 99 or at least four ‘A’ levels with A1 grades. Adjustment Factors
ANU offers rank adjustments for a number of adjustment factors, including for high achievement in nationally strategic senior secondary subjects and for recognition of difficult circumstances that students face in their studies. Rank adjustments are applied to Bachelor degree applicants with an ATAR at or above 70. Points are awarded in accordance with the approved schedules, and no more than 15 points (maximum 5 subject/performance-based adjustments, maximum 10 equity-based adjustments and maximum 5 Elite Athlete adjustments) will be awarded. The PhB(Hons)/BSc(Hons) can be taken in three majors (Chemistry, Mathematics or Physics) and is offered as a joint single degree program by the National University of Singapore, NUS, and the College of Science and College of Health and Medicine at ANU. This highly selective program provides a challenging course of study for students who have a strong interest in and aptitude for graduate research work.
Students are admitted to this program through NUS. Places are offered to ANU students in NUS's University Scholars Program.
Students are expected to acquire a strong foundation in critical analysis and depth in the principles of each subject. They are closely involved in undergraduate research with at least 25 per cent of their graduation requirements based upon independent research.
This is a four-year, embedded Honours, research-based degree. You will spend three semesters in residence at ANU and will write your Honours thesis at NUS. Students in this degree will have their primary enrolment at NUS, spending their first three semesters there, the next three semesters at ANU and the final two semesters back at NUS.
The course of study in each major is indicated in the tables below. There is significant flexibility and you can tailor your program of study in consultation with an assigned academic mentor at your home institution, with approval from the relevant coordinator in both universities.

Advanced Studies consist of individually tailored courses specifically designed to provide students with a strong base in research. Advanced Studies Courses that are inherently taught at a higher level and are entirely research focused (Advanced Studies Courses, ASC).
