Program Requirements
This Honours plan requires the completion of 48 units, which must consist of:
48 units from completion of the Finance Honours specialisation.
Honours calculation
The final Honours Exit Level is the sum of all achieved course weightings. The course weighting is calculated for each individual course using the below formula:
(unit value of course/total units for degree) x final numerical grade of the course

Once you have met the program requirements of your degree, you may have enough electives to complete an additional elective major, minor or specialisation.
Admission Requirements
An AQF Level 7 Bachelor Degree or equivalent, completed within the last two years:
- in a cognate discipline
- With the requirements specified for admission to the Finance Honours Specialisation.
The number of places available in the honours plan may be limited by the Dean due to supervisory capacity.

Adjustment Factors
ANU offers rank adjustments for a number of adjustment factors, including for high achievement in nationally strategic senior secondary subjects and for recognition of difficult circumstances that students face in their studies. Rank adjustments are applied to Bachelor degree applicants with an ATAR at or above 70. Points are awarded in accordance with the approved schedules, and no more than 15 points (maximum 5 subject/performance-based adjustments, maximum 10 equity-based adjustments and maximum 5 Elite Athlete adjustments) will be awarded. Honours in Finance is a program offered within the Research School of Finance, Actuarial Studies and Applied Statistics that offers students who have excelled in their undergraduate studies a challenging but rewarding year of study in finance. We seek outstanding students who are keen to undertake independent finance research with the guidance from academic staff. Application deadline:
The Bachelor of Finance (Honours) will be commencing in Semester 1 (February) and Semester 2 (July) each year
Deadline for S1 is 30th November (11:55pm Australian Eastern Daylight Time).
Deadline for S2 is 31st May (11:55pm Australian Eastern Time)
Notification of outcome: Applicants will be notified of the outcome for admission by
S1: 15th January
S2: 10th July
Acceptance deadline:
If applicants are successful in receiving an offer, the acceptance deadlines are

Application materials
Applicants must provide complete documentation, including a certified or coloured copy of testamur and final transcript (except for ANU students). Applicants must also provide a Statement of Purpose, which must include:
1. Reasons for applying to the honours program, including discussion of the specific skills they would like to develop during the honours year.
2. Proposed research topic for the honours year or discussion of specific research interests that the applicant would like to pursue during honours. It is highly desirable that the applicant has an agreed supervisor at the time of applying
3. How completion of the honours program will help the applicant in their future career.
