Admission Requirements
An AQF Level 7 Bachelor of Politics Philosophy and Economics from the ANU, or equivalent from another institution, completed within the last two years:
- with a weighted average mark equivalent to an ANU 70 per cent calculated from the 36 units (i.e. 0.75 EFTSL), excluding 1000-level courses (i.e. introductory undergraduate courses), with the highest marks, which must include 18 units from PHIL2116 and ECON3056 and one of the following: ECON2141, POLS2125 or POLS2130.
- Written approval of an identified supervisor for the research project/thesis
- and the satisfaction of any further requirements specified in the relevant honours specialisation.

Adjustment Factors
ANU offers rank adjustments for a number of adjustment factors, including for high achievement in nationally strategic senior secondary subjects and for recognition of difficult circumstances that students face in their studies. Rank adjustments are applied to Bachelor degree applicants with an ATAR at or above 70. Points are awarded in accordance with the approved schedules, and no more than 15 points (maximum 5 subject/performance-based adjustments, maximum 10 equity-based adjustments and maximum 5 Elite Athlete adjustments) will be awarded. The Bachelor of Politics Philosophy and Economics (Honours) degree exemplifies the ANU commitment to research-led education. If a person seeking acceptance into a Bachelor Honours program satisfies or exceeds the minimum requirement for admission to the Bachelor Honours program, the Delegated Authority is not obliged to admit the person to the program only because the person has satisfied the minimum requirement for admission.
