The Economics Honours specialisation is offered by Research School of Economics to students who have excelled in their undergraduate studies. The honours year is a challenging but rewarding year of study in economics. The Research School seeks outstanding students who are keen to undertake independent economics research with guidance from academic staff. Past students graduating with Honours in Economics have been highly successful with careers in government, industry and academia in leading institutions and organisations around the world.

Admission Requirements
1. A major in Economic Studies or Mathematical Economics, or equivalent
2. with the following courses or equivalent:
ECON2125 Optimisation for Economics and Financial Economics
ECON3100 Economics 3 (H)
ECON3101 Microeconomics 3
ECON3102 Macroeconomics 3
3. with a weighted average mark equivalent to an ANU 70 per cent calculated from the 36 units (i.e. 0.75 EFTSL) of courses with highest final marks, excluding 1000-level courses (i.e. introductory undergraduate courses), from courses from one of the majors which must include 18 units from ECON3100 Economics 3 (H), ECON3101 Microeconomics 3 and ECON3102 Macroeconomics 3

This Honours specialisation requires the completion of 48 units, which must consist of:
