This course is structured around projects designed to introduce a range of skills and technologies coupled with conceptual and thematic aspects. Students will be introduced to large format photography, and advanced large-scale digital printing techniques. Students will engage in a process of investigation, and will individually research the contexts and concepts relevant to their projects. Workplace health and safety (WHS) instruction is an integral part of this course.
Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion, students will have the knowledge and skills to:
- competently utilise a range of skills relevant to the discipline in response to Workshop projects;
- demonstrate the creative analysis and exploration of materials and processes used in Workshop projects in an individual and conceptually developed way;
- apply concepts and techniques to the development of resolved works of art; and
- identify and develop personal topics for individual research that explore relationships between concept and process.

Workload
130 hours of total student learning time made up from:a) 48 hours of contact over 12 weeks: lectures, tutorials, critiques and supervised studio practice; and
b) 82 hours of independent student research, studio production, reading and writing.
