Program Requirements

The Graduate Certificate of Applied Data Analytics requires the completion of 24 units, which must consist of:

A minimum of 24 units from completion of courses from the following lists. These 24 units must consist of:

A minimum of 6 units from the Computing list

A minimum of 6 units from the Statistics list

A maximum of 6 units from the Sociology list

COMP6240 Relational Databases

COMP6730 Programming for Scientists

COMP7230 Introduction to Programming for Data Scientists

COMP7240 Introduction to Database Concepts


Statistics list

STAT6038 Regression Modelling

STAT7055 Introductory Statistics for Business and Finance


Sociology list

SOCR8201 Introduction to Social Science Methods and Types of Data

SOCR8202 Using Data to Answer Policy Questions and Evaluate Policy

Admission Requirements

A Bachelor degree with Honours or international equivalent with a minimum GPA of 4.0/7.0

Or a Bachelor degree or international equivalent with a minimum GPA of 4.0/7.0, with at least 1 year of relevant work experience.

Or a Bachelor degree or international equivalent with a minimum GPA of 5.0/7.0.

All applicants must meet the University’s English Language Admission Requirements for Students

 

Program Indicative Fees

This program is only open to domestic students.

Commonwealth Supported Places (CSPs) are available for this program.

Indicative CSP fees $4,295

Students unsuccessful in securing a CSP can study as a DTF student. 

Domestic Tuition Fees (DTF) $17,590

Commonwealth Supported Places (CSPs) for this program are limited, competitive and awarded on academic merit. There is no application process for a CSP. All students commencing in Semester 2 2021 (including Winter and Spring sessions) will be ranked according to the GPA of the qualification used as the basis of admission.

Students unsuccessful in securing a Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP) can undertake the program as domestic tuition full fee (DTF) paying students.

The annual indicative fee provides an estimate of the program tuition fees for international students and domestic students (where applicable). The annual indicative fee for a program is based on the standard full-time enrolment load of 48 units per year (unless the program duration is less than 48 units). Fees for courses vary by discipline meaning that the fees for a program can vary depending on the courses selected. Course fees are reviewed on an annual basis and typically will increase from year to year. The tuition fees payable are dependent on the year of commencement and the courses selected and are subject to increase during the period of study.

The proliferation of new technologies is creating data faster than ever before. Organisations are using data and AI to improve operations and services, and using data analytics to improve business outcomes. Data analysts source and analyse data from many different sources, and work with experts across different domains to solve different types of problems. Data analysts go on to work in a wide range of professional settings, from public health to national security, from education to consumer and business services.

The Graduate Certificate of Applied Data Analytics comprises the equivalent of 0.5 years of full-time study. The program is taught online in intensive blended mode. Students are expected to be enrolled part-time and can complete the program in 1 year of part time study.

This program is available to Domestic students only.

NOTE: Commonwealth Supported Places (CSPs) are available for this program.
Domestic applicants offered a place to study in this Graduate Certificate commencing their studies in 2021 will be eligible for a Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP) under the Job Ready Graduate scheme. Costs are indicated on the Admissions and Fees Tab.
