Program Requirements

The Graduate Certificate of Museum and Heritage Studies requires completion of 24 units, which must consist of:

HUMN6051 - Introduction to Cultural Heritage Management (6 units)

HUMN8027 - Critical Issues in Cultural Heritage (6 units)

HUMN8035 - Critical Issues in Intangible Heritage (6 units)

MUSC8017 - Museums and Collections: Key Concepts and Practices (6 units)

Admission Requirements

A Bachelor degree or international equivalent with a minimum GPA of 4/7.

All applicants must meet the University’s English Language Admission Requirements for Students

Fee Information

All students are required to pay the Services and amenities fee (SA Fee)

The annual indicative fee for a program is based on the standard full-time enrolment load of 48 units per year (unless the program duration is less than 48 units). Course fees are reviewed on an annual basis and typically will increase from year to year. The tuition fees payable are dependent on the year of commencement and the courses selected and are subject to increase during the period of study.

This Graduate Certificate can be completed as a stand alone award, or as a pathway to further study in the Master of Museum and Heritage Studies.

This program is only available on a part-time basis.

  3. develop critical engagement with, and a working knowledge of, museums and heritage agencies.

Further Information

Upon successful completion of 24 units of this program, you will be eligible to receive 24 units of credit towards the Master of Museum and Heritage Studies program offered by the Research School of Humanities and the Arts in the College of Arts and Social Sciences.
