Program Requirements
The Graduate Certificate of Applied Data Analytics requires the completion of 24 units, which must consist of:
A minimum of 24 units from completion of courses from the following lists. These 24 units must consist of:
A minimum of 6 units from the Computing list
A minimum of 6 units from the Statistics list
A maximum of 6 units from the Sociology list

Admission Requirements
This program is only open to Domestic students.
A Bachelor degree with Honours or international equivalent with a minimum GPA of 4.0/7.0
Or a Bachelor degree or international equivalent with a minimum GPA of 4.0/7.0, with at least 1 year of relevant work experience.
Or a Bachelor degree or international equivalent with a minimum GPA of 5.0/7.0.
All applicants must meet the University’s English Language Admission Requirements for Students
Program Indicative Fees
This program is only open to domestic students.
Commonwealth Supported Places (CSPs) are available for this program.
Indicative CSP fees $4,330
Students unsuccessful in securing a CSP can study as a DTF student.
Domestic Tuition Fees (DTF) $18855
Commonwealth Supported Places (CSPs) for this program are limited, competitive and awarded on academic merit. There is no application process for a CSP. All students commencing in Semester 2 2021 (including Winter and Spring sessions) will be ranked according to the GPA of the qualification used as the basis of admission.

The annual indicative fee provides an estimate of the program tuition fees for international students and domestic students (where applicable). The annual indicative fee for a program is based on the standard full-time enrolment load of 48 units per year (unless the program duration is less than 48 units). Fees for courses vary by discipline meaning that the fees for a program can vary depending on the courses selected. Course fees are reviewed on an annual basis and typically will increase from year to year. The tuition fees payable are dependent on the year of commencement and the courses selected and are subject to increase during the period of study.

The proliferation of new technologies is creating data faster than ever before. Organisations are using data and AI to improve operations and services, and using data analytics to improve business outcomes. Data analysts source and analyse data from many different sources, and work with experts across different domains to solve different types of problems. Data analysts go on to work in a wide range of professional settings, from public health to national security, from education to consumer and business services.
The Graduate Certificate of Applied Data Analytics comprises the equivalent of 0.5 years of full-time study. The program is taught in person. In addition to semester based teaching, the courses are offered with intensive teaching. This comprises 4 weeks online, 1 week intensive teaching on campus, and a further 4 weeks online. The curriculum has been designed with every expectation that students attend the one week intensive teaching on campus.
This program is available to Domestic students only, and so it has no CRICOS code.
NOTE: Commonwealth Supported Places (CSPs) are available for this program.
Domestic applicants offered a place to study in this Graduate Certificate commencing their studies in 2022 will be eligible for a Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP) under the Job Ready Graduate scheme. Costs are indicated on the Admissions and Fees Tab.

General program information
This program is an interdisciplinary program which has been designed to support professionals from a range of industry sectors who are interested in developing skills, or reskilling, in the area of data analytics. Students are not required to have a background in Computer Science. Students are expected to have an interest in data analytics and typically have experience working with data.
This program is a standalone qualification but can also be used as pathway to further postgraduate study at the Graduate Diploma and Masters levels. GC Applied Data Analytics - pathway to Masters
The Graduate Certificate of Applied Data Analytics can be used as pathway to Masters study. For information on potential destination Masters programs please check the Programs and Courses catalogue or, visit https://cecs.anu.edu.au/study/dataanalytics . Students using this program as a pathway to a destinations Masters program are encouraged to seek academic advice from the CECS Students Services Office prior to finalising their application for admission, or at any time during the degree.
Pathway 1: Application to the destination Masters program upon completion of the Graduate Certificate
- Student should re-apply for admission to ANU through the relevant application portal.
- Students will be eligible for up to 24 units of credit from the Graduate Certificate of Applied Data Analytics towards the destination Graduate Diploma or Masters degree (Graduate Diploma of Applied Data Analytics or the Masters of Applied Data Analytics degree).
- If the student has undertaken an approved variation of the Graduate Certificate study plan, then the amount of credit will depend on the program requirements of the destination Graduate Diploma or Masters program and a case-by-case assessment by the program convener. Students should discuss credit with the convener of the destination degree when making enrolment choices for the Graduate Certificate.
Pathway 2: Degree transfer from the Graduate Certificate before completion of the Graduate Certificate
Students also have the option of applying for degree transfer into the destination Graduate Diploma or Master program if they satisfy all of the following conditions:
- The overall GPA requirements for admission to the destination Graduate Diploma or Masters degree are satisfied from a previous qualification, and
- The cognate requirements are satisfied, including any GPA requirements, to the destination Graduate Diploma or Masters degree are satisfied, and
- Any other requirements listed in the admissions requirements of the destination Graduate Diploma or Master degree are also satisfied.
Note:
- Students will be eligible for up to 24 units of credit for courses completed in the Graduate Certificate of Applied Data Analytics towards the destination Graduate Diploma or Masters degree (Graduate Diploma of Applied Data Analytics or the Masters of Applied Data Analytics degree).
- If the student has undertaken an approved variation of the Graduate Certificate study plan, then the amount of credit will depend on the program requirements of the destination Graduate Diploma or Masters program and a case-by-case assessment by the program convener. Students should discuss credit with the convener of the destination degree when making enrolment choices for the Graduate Certificate.
- Students that progress to Graduate Diploma or Masters through degree transfer will not be awarded nor receive a testamur for the Graduate Certificate of Applied Data Analytics. They will be invited to attend a conferral of award ceremony upon successful completion of their Graduate Diploma or Masters degree and will receive a testamur for this qualification.
Credit for courses completed in the Graduate Certificate
Any credit applied will reduce the overall duration of the destination Masters program by an equivalent number of units.
