This course asks students to consider the ways in which they can create positive impact through sustainable, ethical and innovative design practice. The course centres on development of a professional design project as a means to develop advanced design skills and knowledge, and as a vehicle for industry and public engagement. The course supports internship as a component of the professional project, subject to availability.

  3. Conduct research into design artefacts and processes, and apply findings to creative production.
  4. Substantiate design process and outcomes with research and rationale.

The ANU uses Turnitin to enhance student citation and referencing techniques, and to assess assignment submissions as a component of the University's approach to managing Academic Integrity. Workload

260 hours of total student learning time made up from:
a) 48 hours contact over 12 weeks, comprising lectures and tutorials/workshops; and
b) 212 hours of independent studio and allied investigations

Requisite and Incompatibility

To enrol in this course you must be enrolled in the Bachelor of Design (Honours) (HDESN).

Assumed Knowledge

Students must possess sufficient knowledge/skills required to define and carry out an advanced design project.
