This course provides students with an opportunity to undertake detailed study of a chosen original topic situated within a sub-field of primatology and/or palaeoanthropology. In collaboration with the Course Convenor, students individually choose one key topic of interest to them and focus on a program of directed readings and regular discussions.
Students may enrol in this course more than once. This course is repeatable for credit, up to a maximum of 12 units, and if repeated must be repeated with a different topic each time.
Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion, students will have the knowledge and skills to:
- understand the underlying principles of the primatology or palaeoanthropology sub-discipline identified for study;
- develop the ability to critically review readings within the chosen primatology or palaeoanthropology sub-discipline and identify a topic for review; and
- synthesise information from peer-reviewed literary sources to review a topic within the chosen sub-discipline of primatology or palaeoanthropology.

Workload
130 hours of total student learning time made up from:
a) 12 hours of contact over 12 weeks of one-to-one meetings; and
